33 students from the University of Florida’s STEPUP Program visited ANCORP last Friday to tour our facility and to learn more about the world of high vacuum manufacturing and engineering. The program, organized by the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering, recognizes talented students and provides them with enriching academic, professional, and personal developmental experiences that promote success in engineering.
The activities for students during the visit included:
- Demonstrations on how high vacuum and ultra high vacuum systems work
- Presentations explaining the roles our products play in different applications and industries
- Q&As with employees
- A complete tour of our manufacturing facility
If you or someone you know may be interested in the STEPUP program, any UF student that has chosen engineering as their college path can apply. If accepted, students participate in a rigorous 6-week residental summer component that incorporates team building activities, a strong curriculum, industry and faculty speakers, student panels, and corporate tours like ours. The program continues into the following fall and spring semesters to help with transition into college and continuous success.
Thank you to the University of Florida and to all students and faculty who visited! We hope we can host this excellent program again next year! Go Gators!
